Industrial Policy & Strategy Newsletter
ISA announces a major restructuring of the weekly industrial policy and strategy newsletter. This newsletter was first issued in October 2021 and has been faithfully edited since then by ISA board member Andrew Reamer. Your feedback on this new structure is welcome, via email, to isa@industrystudies.org.
The ISA produces a weekly member newsletter providing links to recent postings from the federal government, media, research institutions, and diverse advocacy organizations on subjects relevant to federal industrial policy and strategy. Through the end of the Biden Administration, the newsletter provided substantial detail by subject area. With the Trump Administration's arrival, the newsletter is focusing more tightly on the nature and impact of the federal government's new initiatives.
This section of the Members Only Area provides members with: a hyperlinked list of various sources of news, analysis, data, and information used to populate the former and current formats of the newsletter; and access to previous issues of the newsletter (which started in October 2021). The list of sources, which will be regularly updated, enables members to stay informed in realms not tracked by the current version of the newsletter. Access to previous issues enables members to track the evolution of efforts in various industrial policy realms over the last several years.
Sources of News and Analysis Relevant to Industrial Policies
Each day, a substantial volume of news and analysis relevant to industrial policy, and industry studies more generally, is generated by federal agencies, think tanks, academia, nonprofit organizations, blogs, and news media. ISA's regularly updated listing of over 125 sources, organized by type, enables members to stay abreast of current news and publication releases pertinent to their efforts. Nearly all sources invite users to request periodic feeds on particular topics, though a paid subscription may be required. At present, the list is organized by the categories used in the legacy ISA weekly industrial policy newsletter.
